Scholarship/Book Award Program
Since 2001, WAEF, Inc. has awarded scholarships/book awards to deserving young men graduating from Westchester County, NY high schools. In choosing recipients, WAEF Board members and members of the Westchester Alphas hold firm to several ideals: (1) demonstrated academic excellence, (2) commitment to community service, and (3) leadership. WAEF, Inc. awards the following scholarship and book awards:

Gerald L. Barbour Scholarship: a $2,000 one-time scholarship honoring Gerald Barbour's commitment and service to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

Frederick D. Patterson Book Award: $1,000 one-time awards for recipients' college-related expenses, including textbooks, room & board, and tuition.

WAEF Book Awards: $1,000 one-time awards for recipients' college-related expenses, including textbooks, room & board, and tuition.
We are proud that our past recipients of the scholarships and book awards have attended such selective schools as Cornell University, Princeton University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
