Westchester Alphas Educational Foundation
The Westchester Alphas Educational Foundation (WAEF), Inc. was founded by members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Eta Zeta Lambda chapter. The Foundation was officially incorporated in the State of New York in 2001. Subsequently, the Eta Zeta Lambda Educational Foundation 501(c)3 was established on March 23, 2011.
On August 15, 2011, the organization underwent a name change to become the Next Level Educational Foundation, Inc. Then, on February 22, 2013, the foundation transitioned to its current name, the Westchester Alphas Educational Foundation, Inc.
Since its inception in 2001, the Westchester Alphas Educational Foundation, Inc. has been dedicated to awarding scholarships and book awards to deserving young men graduating from high schools in Westchester County, New York. When selecting recipients, Board members uphold specific criteria, including demonstrated academic excellence, a commitment to community service, and leadership qualities.
Recipients of the scholarships and book awards have proceeded to attend esteemed institutions such as Princeton University, Brown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Duke University, and Howard University.
